An opportunity exists for a Manager Engineering Support Services with an internationally recognised mining and mineral processing operations leader.

 

Purpose:

·          Reporting to GM, provide leadership and manage a multi-disciplinary maintenance and services organization within the guidelines of company policy and procedures

·          To support the company objective of being the safe, reliable efficient, profitable and respected supplier of choice in the mineral sands industry

·          Experience in heavy industry in heavy mobile equipment maintenance is required

·          Effectively manage a large team, contractors, outsourcing, consultants and be able to negotiate with key service providers

 

Requirements:

·          An Engineering Degree or equivalent with Government Certificate of Competency (Mines & Works)

·          10 years appropriate experience in heavy industry or mining. 3-5 years of this to be at Manager level

·          Exceptional performer and strong leadership abilities

Senior Engineering Technician (Fitting and Turning) - MM1925
East Rand

Salary R320 000 Per Annum Cost to Company

 

Our client, a leading manufacturer is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician who understands the impact of a team’s performance on overall factory performance.  The preferred candidate should have a minimum N3 qualification and a trade test certificate in fitting and turning.  5 years experience is essential in maintenance of high speed packaging lines, also supervisory experience for a minimum of 2 years. 

 

Key Responsibilities

·                             Manage other two junior technicians in shift

·                             Coordinate with all machine operators to have the equipment in running condition

·                             Work hard in hand with team leader to ensure GMP, Safety and Quality in the plant.

·                             Carry out changeovers as per need and confirm the set-up and adjustments

·                             Maintain spare part storage area and engineering work shop

·                             Trouble shooting of machines in the least possible time

·                             Standby support to the shift teams if placed in day shift

·                             Draw, plan and implement maintenance schedules

·                             Plan and arrange for spare parts required to carry out schedules

·                             Carryout planned maintenance at scheduled time

·                             Optimize maintenance schedules to reduce costs

·                             Skill analysis of all the people

·                             Develop and deliver on the job equipment specific training

·                             On going training of people on equipment specific SOP’s and standards

·                             Generate OPL’s and ensure knowledge transfer across shifts

·                             Carrie out problem solving to establish root causes

·                             Implement improvement solutions to eliminate root cause

·                             Document the before and after status of the problem solving

·                             Implement major equipment changes along with project team

System Engineer – MM1942

Our client is a leading Safe and Security organization, implementing projects throughout Africa and making a difference in people’s lives.

 

Purpose of the position: To take systems engineering responsibility on mortar projects

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       To study and understand the basic principles and characteristics of mortars and artillery systems in

      general.

·       To understand the internal ballistics theory and practice of the propulsion systems and understand the

       principles involved in the specification, design and testing of such a propulsion system.

·       To study and grasp the theory of HE-fragmentation warheads and distribution mechanisms of other

       payloads.

·       To interpret User Requirements and to translate these requirements into functional requirements.(System Development Specification).

·       To be responsible for the following outputs as part of a project team;

o      Concept Design reports.

o      System Engineering Management Plan. (SEMP)

o      Qualification Test Plan (QTP) based on international guidelines, i.e. Stanag.

o      Weapon/Ammunition Interface analysis. (Maintain interface control documents)

o      Pressure Budget analysis.

o      Failure Mode Analysis (FMECA)

o      Technical Risk Analysis.

o      Test Specifications and Technical progress reports.

·       To have continuous technical interfacing with the Client to ensure that the test and evaluation program

      stays in line with the User’s requirements. This is an essential and ongoing process of requirement-

      and perception management.

·       To support the Programme manager and Marketing managers with the planning of development work and to generate quotations.

·       Should remain informed through literature study, symposia or networking of the latest developments and activities in the relevant fields.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience:

·          A degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience in Systems Engineering with a solid background in Applied Mathematics, Physics and System Engineering principles

·          Knowledge in the use of mathematical modeling of physical systems/processes and its limitations is important.

·          Must be an innovator and problem solver, able to multi task and work well under pressure

·          At least 10 years technical experience in a specific engineering discipline and exposure to multidisciplinary engineering development environment.

·          Analytical thinker with good reasoning and problem-solving skills

·          Ability to work well independently or interactively as a member of a team.

·          Decision-maker motivated and self-disciplined.

·          Planning and Organizational skills as well as good administrative skills.

·          An advanced level of computer literacy is essential, i.e. MS packages & data analysis software.

Our client is seeking to employ a Facility Manager with a stable work record.  The company has a maintenance department responsible for the maintenance of hard and soft services, Facilitate the buildings and associated plant and machinery. Next to that it includes the maintenance of the common areas and administration buildings and grounds of the plant and adjacent properties of the factory including other building facilities and further includes in general the care of air conditioning, electric power, plumbing and lighting systems, cleaning, grounds-keeping and security and in particular.

 

Qualifications (Not Negotiable)

·       Degree in acknowledged field from a reputable accredited university in Facility Management or relevant

      Qualification or an accredited CFM (IFMA)

·       Working experience in management role, dealing with customers, buildings construction, electrical

      reticulations, mechanical installations

      Minimum 5yrs experience in a Facility Management

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Manage and organizes all the non-core hard and soft services Facility Management

      Activities in terms of the contractual agreement in place

·       Manage all the hard and soft services 3rd party contractors within Service Level Agreement concluded with them

·       Arrange for and have regular meetings with 3rd party service providers on performance levels
